The Duke Heist (The Wild Wynchesters, 1)

London, 1817. What happens when the one person you want to be invisible to is the only person who sees you? Chloe Wynchester has two problems: the first, a beloved family painting has been absent for the past eight months. The second, His Arrogance, the Duke of Frosty Disapproval (or the Duke of Faircliffe, as others know him), both a thorn in the Wynchester’s side and the man who refuses to return their painting. When Chloe’s clever plot to steal it back from him goes awry, her second problem becomes much more personal than just a favored painting.

Lawrence Gosling, eight Duke of Faircliffe, has his own plans in motion—an upcoming betrothal that will refill his family’s wealth and restore their reputations. He has worked hard in Parliament and crafted the perfect image, but his carefully-laid plans are no match for the Wynchester family. As plots and subplots unfold, neither Chloe nor Lawrence knows what to expect next.

The Duke Heist was a delightfully wicked read—both for the impish family shenanigans and the less family-friendly scenes. I enjoyed the found family dynamic of the Wynchesters, which readers can continue to enjoy as this is the first in Ridley’s planned Wild Wynchesters series.
