Bio:
I began writing historical fiction in 2012. It started with medical fiction but the stories took me back to World War I and led to my Novels of the Great War series. An American Nurse in Paris is the first of these to be published. Dogs Don't Cry is my second, with more to come. My background as a physician and US Marine Corps father twice over play major roles in my fiction.
I was born and raised in the Midwest but developed an early love affair with the mountains of Montana. After earning a BA in psychology, I completed medical school at the University of Minnesota, with my final training in pulmonary medicine at the University of Chicago in 1984. I feel a bit ancient saying that. I retired in 2016 after a gratifying career in Internal, Pulmonary, Sleep, and Critical Care Medicine in Green Bay, WI. I now live in Manhattan, MT where I ski, camp, and write without deadlines.
