Miss Blaine’s Prefect and the Weird Sisters (The Prefect’s Adventures, 3)
At fifty-something, Shona has had a top-notch education and is an accomplished martial artist, linguist, and musician. Most women would be proud of these accomplishments, and rightly so, but not many of them can add “time traveler” to the list. Shona is a proud graduate of the Marcia Blaine School for Girls, and is selected by Blaine herself to travel back in time for a mission involving Macbeth, the Weird Sisters, and a black cat. Thus begins a rollicking trip where being turned into a mouse is only one of her problems. This is the third book in The Prefect’s Adventures series. This book is not a true standalone. Starting with book one of the series is recommended in order for the reader to have the best experience.
What a fun, witty, and lively adventure! Comedy, time travel, literature, and history are all woven together into one hilarious package. This is an enjoyable trip back to the 11th century, where Shona is researching the death of King Duncan and meets Macbeth himself. The word “weird” is shown in the title, and this book is indeed wonderfully weird. The three sisters, all witches, are named Ina, Mina, and Mo, and they will keep you laughing all throughout the book. The characters, including witches, kings, trees, and a cat, are all so well written and make for a delightful read. This is an unexpected and magical journey that the reader will not soon forget. This book is recommended to those who enjoy history, literature, and comedy.
