Bio: Penny is married with two grown up children and lives in the Hampshire countryside. She has a degree in Classics and a passion for archaeology - she often spends her summers on digs. She has had various jobs over the years, including working on the British Forces newspaper in Germany, and at the BBC. Penny's first novel, The King's Daughter, told the story of Elflaede, daughter of King Alfred the Great. The King's Daughter earned Editors' Choice from this Society. The review described the novel as "fast paced, engaging, enlightening and hugely enjoyable". Penny’s second novel The Saxon Wolves and it’s sequel The Saxon Plague both enjoyed similar critical acclaim.  Her fourth novel, Twelve Nights, was published on 1st June 2022. A departure from the early medieval era, it is set in Tudor London.
