Bio: My first novel, ISABELLA'S LIBRETTO, was published in 2014. This Young Adult story is set in the fascinating world of the Ospedale della Pieta in Venice, Italy, in 1715, when Antonio Vivaldi directed a remarkable orchestra there made up of all females. Most of them had been abandoned or orphaned as infants, and when I first learned of this amazing slice of history, I couldn't stop thinking about it! Historical fiction has always been my favorite genre, and my interest in Vivaldi's orchestra led to research and then writing and then back to more research. (Research in Venice? Yes, please!)I live in the rolling hills outside Nashville, TN, with my husband and two canine kids, and I love the visits with my grown human kids and my precious grandbaby. I'm an active member of our new local chapter of the HNS, and I'm also active in the Society of Children's Bookwriters and Illustrators. My next novel, also a YA historical, will be set in Texas, but will have an interesting tie to Italy!
