Bio: I’m a graduate of St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College, University of London. I became a consultant paediatrician, working in Coventry, Sandwell, and West Birmingham, before moving in 2017 to work in Wexford, Ireland. I studied Creative Writing with the Open University, Jericho Writers and Curtis Brown. My interest is in the 19th century and as a doctor, my novels draw upon the history of medicine. I enjoy creating complex, twisting plots around love and death, with a Gothic flavour. The DOUGHTY TRILOGY is set in Birmingham, England, in 1840, in Dublin in 1849 during the Great Famine, and in Manhattan in 1854.
