Bio: Tara Lynn Masih's debut YA historical novel, My Real Name Is Hanna, is the winner of multiple book awards, including gold medals from the Florida Book Awards and Foreword and the Julia Ward Howe Award for Young Readers, and placed as a finalist in the National Jewish Book Awards. Hanna was translated into Slovak and Polish. Tara is editor of The Rose Metal Press Field Guide to Writing Flash Fiction and The Chalk Circle: Intercultural Prizewinning Essays. She founded The Best Small Fictions series in 2015. Additional awards for her work include the Lou P. Bunce Creative Writing Award, The Ledge Magazine’s Fiction Award, a finalist fiction grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, Wigleaf Top 50 recognition, and Pushcart Prize, Best New American Voices, and Best of the Web nominations. Her second story collection, How We Disappear, won a 2022 Florida Book Award and includes historical fiction. She loves getting lost in the past, both as a reader and as a writer.
