Bio: Marlie Parker Wasserman writes historical crime fiction,  Her debut novel, The Murderess Must Die (2021) , imagines the life and death of Martha Place, the first woman in the world to be sentenced to die in the electric chair.  Set in Brooklyn and Sing Sing in the late nineteenth century, this novel is based on a true crime. Wasserman's second novel, Path of Peril (2023), imagines the dangers of Theodore Roosevelt's trip to Panama in 1906, as assassins hunt for him. This too is inspired by true events. Her third novel (2023), Inferno on Fifth, centers on the adventures and fears of six women involved n a devastating fire in Manhattan. The story is inspired by the tragic Windsor Hotel fire of 1899. She is currently writing a novel centered around an imagined kidnapping of Grover Cleveland’s first child.
