Bio: Marie Powell's castle-hopping adventures across Wales resulted in her young adult historical fantasy series Last of the Gifted, including Spirit Sight and Water Sight (Wood Dragon Books). She is the author of more than 40 books for children and young adults published by Scholastic Education, Amicus, Lerner/Lightning Bolt and more. Marie has a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia, and her award-winning short stories and poetry appear in such literary magazines as subTerrain, Room, and Transition.
