Bio: I am the author of the novel The Saint’s Mistress, published by CamCat Books, based on the true story of Saint Augustine and his mistress. One reviewer describes The Saint’s Mistress as “Superbly written. I was engrossed from the very beginning to the very end, with engaging and fully-developed characters offering a glimpse of their lives against the fourth century North African backdrop.” As a child, I earned the nickname Suitcase Simpson for the little suitcase of books I carried everywhere I went. I still read a book a week on average, mostly literary and historical fiction and I review every book I read on Goodreads. The history of Western Pennsylvania, where I have lived all my life, is a passion of mine. My novel-in-progress, Righteous, is about Jane Grey Swisshelm - a journalist, abolitionist and women’s rights advocate in 19th-century Pittsburgh. Shockingly, only one biography has ever been written about her, and she has never been novelized before. I aim to change that.
