Bio: J Gray (Joanna) has completed a manuscript for Mia and the Serpent, a work of commercial historical fiction, about Mia, a young woman who must face the consequences of rash decisions, find justice, and gain redemption in the aftermath of the Trojan War. Her quest makes personal the dramatic collapse of civilizations leading to the Ancient Dark Age in the 12th century B.C.E. The MS was awarded the coveted Key West Council of the Arts Grant. An active member of the Key West Writer's Guild, Joanna also volunteers for the Key West Literary Seminar. Joanna is a writer, teacher, and lover of all things historical. She has an MA in History and has taught classical, European and US history for eighteen years. Her teaching experience began at Monmouth University, then, for motivations still unknown, she switched to teaching ancient history to eighth graders. She now teaches at the high school level in Key West and fishes with her husband, mastering the art of telling fish tales.
