Bio:
- I'm a reader and writer of historical fiction with elements of coming-of-age and family saga. I'm highly influenced by the Appalachian roots of my ancestry, which shows up in my writing and in the books I choose to read.
- Two of my short stories won tiny acclaim decades ago, and recently, my interest in writing short stories has been revived! I'm also working on my first novel set in the 1960s in Western North Carolina.
- I'm also an editor, creativity coach, writing retreat facilitator. Balancing these duties--which I love--with writing is a full-time job itself. Especially since I have more story ideas than I can possibly finish in a lifetime, among them a series set in historic lodges and several short stories set in the fictional town I created for my novel. Plus, I'm working on a nonfiction book about the creative journey.
