New Frontier of Love: 2 (American Wilderness Series Romance)

Written by Dorothy Wiley
Review by Christoph Fischer

New Frontier of Love is a historical romance set in the Kentucky of 1797. The romance part takes place between Captain Sam Wyllie and Catherine Adams, a widow in search of freedom and independence and is the most accomplished part of the novel. Wiley seems comfortable in the genre and writes great, enjoyable dialogues with believable characters.

As a European, eager to learn more about the times following the American Independence and American History in general, the book did not offer quite as much detail or information as I would have liked to get my hands on. The sense for the era, however, did feel authentic.

The writing is skilful and the various plots and supporting characters add to this entertaining and sparkly novel. Recommended for fans of romance with a different setting.
