The Heiress Bride (A Duke’s Heiress Romance)
Iris Barrington makes her own way as a broker of rare and valuable books, but she won’t turn down the small fortune she’s been left by the late Duke of Hollinburgh, whose predecessor ruined her grandfather’s career. The new Hollinburgh, Nicholas Radnor, finds himself drawn by more than a sense of obligation as Iris upends his library and his search for a suitable bride, and he vows to investigate the accidents befalling the new heiress. Practical Iris makes the most of her time in London—and with Nicholas—until finding the manuscript she seeks exposes a family secret she is sure will drive them apart for good.
Hunter’s sedate prose handles humor, intrigue, and passion equally well, and fans will enjoy how the pairs of the previous books play a part. Iris and Nicholas are well-matched, self-possessed and self-aware, and one never doubts they’ll find a way. The bickering family and the bits on medieval manuscripts were the most fun for this reviewer, but the love story stirs a satisfied sigh. As we finally know who killed Uncle Frederick, this series is over, but hopefully there is much more to come from the talented Hunter. I recommend the whole trilogy.
