A History of London in 50 Lives
The author has written fifty short vignettes of Londoners or those who lived and made their mark on the United Kingdom’s capital city one way or another. The studies are of not necessarily the most prominent or generally seen as the most important people, and this can by no means be considered a comprehensive history or examination of London. But it is an appealing attempt to provide a sample of the richness of the city’s history and reach throughout global history. It is an interesting and undemanding read, with lots of fascinating snippets of information.
