I was born in the U.K. but spent most of my life in Australia before moving back to the U.K. in retirement.
I became deeply involved in genealogy while researching the mysterious background of my deceased father, an English immigrant to Australia. I found that his American mother was descended from early German pioneers in Texas and his father came from wealthy 19th Century Lancashire cotton mill owners. Also, my father had abandoned two families, one in America and one in England, before a bigamous marriage to my mother.
These discoveries formed the basis of “Ancestors : A Tale of Two Worlds” which tells a story in novel form that spans 1830s Germany, pioneer Texas, the Civil War, Lancashire cotton mills and World War 1, plus a father with dark secrets.
