About me

I’m working on a novel about a 15-year-old French artist who goes to Baja in 1769, only to find himself marooned in a quarantined mission and with only his art to pay for his passage home. The novel’s title is THE VERMILLION SEA.

My contemporary novel, MONTPELIER TOMORROW, will be published by ATTM Press in 2014, and my story collection, BONDS OF LOVE & BLOOD, will be published in early 2015.

My stories have won the Matt Clark Prize, the ALR Fiction Prize, the Rash Award, and the Barry Hannah Prize, and THE VERMILLION SEA was a finalist for the 2014 Faulkner-Wisdom Prize.
