Helena Schrader

About me

Award-winning novelist Helena P. Schrader has a PhD in History. She has published non-fiction books on the German Resistance to Hitler, the Berlin Airlift, and women in aviation in WWII. Her fiction focuses on the Crusades, Ancient Sparta and WWII. Her novel “Defender of Jerusalem” won five literary accolades: it took “Silver” for Christian Historical Fiction in the Readers’ Favorite Book Awards, 2016, it was a finalist for the M.M. Bennetts Award for Historical Fiction, won the Chaucer Award for Historical Fiction set in the Middle Ages, and took the “Silver” in the Feathered Quill Literary Awards 2016 for Spiritual/Religious Fiction, as well as earning B.R.A.G. medallion.
