About me

In my studio in Vancouver I am working on a novel based on the life of two Vietnamese queens who reigned in the 1st century AD. It will be my second book inspired by the history of Vietnam. In 2005, I went to Vietnam and for four years taught International Relations at the Diplomatic Academy in Hanoi. In 2009, I became Consulting Editor for the Women’s Publishing House, where I coordinated the publication of the “Anthology of Short Stories by Canadian Women Writers.” A collection of my own historical fiction entitled “Imagining Vietnam” was the winner of the 2011 Impress Prize for New Writers. The book was published by Impress Books in the UK in 2013. I have a doctorate in Political Science and in my previous life was a public servant and a university lecturer.
