I have always enjoyed reading historical fiction – starting with Mary Renault and the Greek Classics. I live in Oxford in the UK but I grew up in Africa and on the Pacific island of Fiji. When I was eighteen my family moved to the US and I did a degree in French and Spanish at Tulane University in New Orleans. During my second year I attended university in Mexico City where I became fascinated by the Amerindian civilizations. Although a fulfilled and successful greetings card designer for 20 years, I felt the urge to tell the story of the Aztecs and in 2009 I published my first novel ‘Children of the Sun’. It describes the conquest from their point of view. My next novel is set closer to home in time and place, the Caucasus.
