DeAnn Smith has been a journalist for 25 years, working for newspapers, television stations and radio stations. She has won numerous journalism awards in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri. On a national level, DeAnn won the prestigious Investigative Reporters and Editors award for her series about misspending by Baton Rouge municipal court judges. Since a child, she has been keenly interested in the Wars of the Roses and the Tudors. Her first novel, Sanctuary Princess, focuses on Anne, a younger sister of the “Princes in the Tower.” She is the digital content manager for KCTV in Kansas City where she oversees the CBS station’s social media accounts. She and her husband have a four-legged child, Lucy. She loves to curl up with a well-written, well-researched novel.
