C. B. Jones (Jonesey) is an artist, illustrator, cartoonist and “graphic designer working from home”. He is also an ex – teacher, driving instructor and butler. When not “colouring in”, he spends many hours sitting in a booth (The Office) at his local pub scribbling his ideas on a notepad. The result, after many months of antisocial behaviour (the words of his friends and his wife) is “White Phantom City”: a historical/time slip murder mystery with elements of the paranormal, spanning a two hundred year period from Venice in the eighteenth century, through World War Two and up to the nineteen fifties. (there are no vampires, werewolves, elves or wizards)
It was born out of his interest in the Venice of the seventeen hundreds, a childhood fear of an Italian wall mask and, an optical illusion in Canaletto’s “The Stonemason’s Yard”.
