Alan Winter

Bio: Alan A. Winter has authored four novels including Island Bluffs, Snowflakes in the Sahara, Someone Else’s Son, and Savior’s Day, which Kirkus selected as a Best Book of 2013. It also received honorable mention in the NYC Book Festival. His most recent novels, Wolf and Sins of the Fathers, were co-authored with Herbert J. Stern.   Winter graduated with honors in history from Rutgers. He earned professional degrees from NYU and Columbia and was an associate professor at both institutions for many years. Alan edited an award-winning journal and published more than twenty professional articles. He studied creative writing at Columbia’s Graduate School of General Studies. His screenplay, Polly, received honorable mention at the Austin Film Festival and became the basis for Island Bluffs.
