Bio: Abra Deering loves creating worlds in fiction. She recently completed the first novel in her historical mystery/thriller series with a strong female sleuth set in 1901 San Francisco. She loves historical research. She was a repped screenwriter, earned her MFA from UCLA, and is currently an Adjunct Professor of Creative Writing. Abra's love of mysteries was born at a young age, she inherited her mom’s Nancy Drew “tweeds” at the age of five. At fifteen, she spent an entire summer reading up on ancient history. She’s always loved history and has worked as a professional researcher. Her short story about Sherlock Holmes’ daughter, “Bohemian Soul,” appeared in the Pushcart publication special Holmes edition Jersey Devil Press. Her essays have been published in TheWrap, Los Angeles Times, The Huffington Post. Her short fiction & poetry have been published in various literary journals.
