Bio: Vanessa Couchman has lived in southwest France since 1997 and is a historical novelist and short story writer. She has an MA in History from Oxford University. Her Tales of Corsica series includes: The House at Zaronza, set in early 20th-century Corsica and World War I; and The Corsican Widow, set in 18th-century Corsica and Marseille. A Corsican WWII novel will follow. Vanessa has also published , Overture, Book 1 of the Alouette trilogy, set in France between 1897 and 1945. Books 2 and 3 are in preparation. Vanessa's short stories set in France have been gathered in French Collection: Twelve Short Stories. Her historical interests centre on France and Corsica and her life in France blog includes posts about French local and national history. She is an avid reader of historical fiction.
