Blackstone and the Endgame

By

1916. After an incident in which Sam Blackstone is (probably) set up, he is on the run like an ordinary criminal. The only way Sam can redeem himself is to find Max, the man responsible for his dilemma. He needs help but, with Sergeant Archie Patterson in jail, he decides to get out of London. Vladimir, a spy for the tsar who has worked with Sam in the past, most notably to thwart a plot against the late Queen, promises to help Sam if he agrees to go to Russia. But Vladimir is embroiled in the plot to kill Rasputin. When Sam is caught up in pre-revolutionary violence, he realizes how much he misses London and Ellie Carr, MD. In fact, it’s Dr. Carr, the forensic scientist, who gets Archie out on bail and on the trail of the mysterious Max in London. There are too many coincidences and lucky breaks for the fast-paced plot to be anything but mildly entertaining but, rest assured, Blackstone is cleared and returns to duty.
