Member Directory
- Our online member directory allows visitors to view members’ profiles, their latest website/blog posts and links to their Facebook, Twitter and Goodreads accounts. It is also where our staff first look for news and features for the site.
Awards
- HNS Awards have helped discover and launch the author careers of Michel Faber, Ruth Downie, Hilary Green, Martin Sutton, Kelleigh Greenberg-Jephcott, Nikki Marmery, Margaret Skea, Warwick Cairns, Katherine Mezzacappa and Elizabeth Macneal. Our ARA and Saudi awards are amongst the most generous of all literary prizes.

Local chapters

What are they?

These local groups have been set up by enthusiastic Historical Novel Society members. They are locally initiated and run, with very little central supervision.

Who leads them?

A chapter’s leader is a paid-up member of the society. Governance, meetings membership and other admin areas are independent of the main Society.

The Facebook group needs a ‘sleeping’ admin from the main society, in case of any problems. We would also prefer to create your logo.

How to start a local chapter

Contact us if you wish to start a chapter. We recommend beginning with a Facebook group. We’ll then give a shout-out from our main social media and add you to the lists.
