The next meeting of the HNS Bristol and South West Chapter will take place on 18th April 2013 from 5.45 to 7.15 pm at the Bristol Central Library, College Green,
Bristol BS1 5TL. For directions see the Bristol Libraries Website http://www.bristol.gov.uk/page/leisure-and-culture/central-library.
The Chapter, for readers and writers of historical fiction, will meet in the Meeting Room on the First Floor (in the Reference Library).
Meetings will be monthly.  All welcome – you don’t have to be a member of the Society. If you require further information contact Lucienne Boyce (lucienne@lucienneboyce.com).

If you love historical fiction and you live in or near Bristol, why not join the Bristol and South West branch of the Historical Novel Society?

The group would be for readers and writers of historical fiction and would be a chance to meet fellow historical fiction enthusiasts. It would be open to members of the HNS and non-members, with no obligation to join the Society. Meetings would be free (though a small charge might have to be made to cover venue costs). Activities could include:-

  • Book group reads – books chosen from the HNS Editors’ Picks
  • Talks from local writers and historians
  • Visits to local sites of literary/historical interest
  • A writers’ circle (eg manuscript swaps etc)
  • Writers’ workshops

In fact, what we’d do and how often we met would depend on what members wanted. We could start with monthly meetings and take it from there. The aim would be to have our first meeting in the New Year 2013. So, if you’d be interested in joining a Bristol and South West HNS Group please contact Lucienne Boyce lucienne@lucienneboyce.com
