Michael E. McCarthy

About me

Michael McCarthy published his first historical novel From Cork to the New World in 2009 and his second novel The Flight of the Wretched in 2011. Additionally, he has published numerous articles for NorthEast Colleges and Universities Security Association’s (NECUSA) The Clipboard and the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators’ (IACLEA) Campus Law Enforcement Journal including a fictional three part series of freshmen adjusting to college life and the role of campus security. In addition, McCarthy served as the editor for The Clipboard for six years.

Michael is a retired Rochester Police Department Police Investigator and served thirteen years on the Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT). For the past 15 years he has been the Director of Safety and Security for St. John Fisher College (Rochester, NY).
Mike is also the Vice President of the Irish American Cultural Institute, Rochester Chapter and a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
