I was born in Central Africa and like other kids raised in a remote era before mass communication, I became an avid reader. It seemed inevitable I’d also become a writer as I grew up with real adventure stories and drew much historical inspiration from my English father who’d been one of the last “Empire men” and my mother who was a refugee from the Russian Revolution with all its tragedies and dramas. After completing my education in England, I caught the travel bug and lived and worked on several continents before settling in Australia.
I have been associated with HNS since it was founded and was for a time Features Editor for Solander magazine. As “Regina of Arbeia”, I explore little-known individuals and quirky stories in two history blogs – Digging the Dust and The History Bucket. See my website for the links.
