Kim Rendfeld is the author of THE CROSS AND THE DRAGON (2012, Fireship Press), a tale of love amid the wars and blood feuds of Charlemagne’s reign, and THE ASHES OF HEAVEN’S PILLAR (Aug. 28, 2014, Fireship Press), a story of the lengths a medieval mother will go to protect her children after losing everything else.
She grew up in New Jersey and attended Indiana University, where she earned a bachelor’s in journalism and English, with a minor in French. She was a journalist for 17 years at Indiana newspapers, including the Journal and Courier in Lafayette, The Muncie Star, and The News and Sun in Dunkirk, and won several awards from the Hoosier State Press Association. Her current day job is as a copy editor for award-winning marketing and communications projects at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, where she gets paid to agonize over commas and hyphens.
She lives with her husband, Randy, in Indiana, and their spoiled cats. They have a daughter and 3 granddaughters.
