Joan Stewart Sumner
I am based in a small town, 7 miles south of Edinburgh, Scotland. My main enjoyment is in travelling, researching and writing historical fiction.
I have published travel and self-help magazine articles.
My first 19th century historical novel ‘Legacy of Greed’ won the 2013 Scottish Association of Writers Crime Novel Competition.
I’m the current Hon.President of the Edinburgh Writers’ Club and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development(UK).
My stories tend to have backgrounds based on the legality of employment and relationships. They are based on true and documented events that have intrigued me.
So far, this interest has taken me from 17th to early 19th centuries in Scotland, England, Spain, Portugal and USA.
