About me

I am Professor Emeritus of History at Northeastern Illinois University. I hold B.A. and M.A. degrees in History from the University of California, Berkeley; and my Ph.D. is from UCLA.
During my academic career (1969-1996) I wrote six books on the social-cultural history of radio and television.
Now I write historical fiction. My latest work is the e-book entitled, THE HEADLONG FURY, An Odyssey through the Great War of 1914-1918. Another (I, Liberal) is a fanciful political satire. I have also written two enhanced e-books (The History Shoppe, The Code of Clio) that are fantasy stories intended to teach students how historians interpret source documents. These fantasies contain movies, radio programs, and still pictures.
While The Headlong Fury is for sale at Kindle, Nook, etc., all the other books are available free of charge on my comprehensive website: www.jfredmacdonald.com
