I write middle grade & young adult novels including: Claiming Georgia Tate, Chancey of the Maury River, and A Certain Strain of Peculiar.
Candlewick Press will publish my first historical novel for young adults in September 2012. Come August, Come Freedom imagines the life of Gabriel, an enslaved blacksmith who planned one of first and largest slave rebellions in the U.S. in 1800.
