About me

Denise Barnes has a writing life in between setting up and running two estate agency businesses. She has written articles, short stories and two non-fiction books. from Bad to Wurst:Bavarian Adventures of a Veggie Cook,is a memoir of her time in a sanatorium in Bavaria in 1972 as an assistant cook, and was published by PenPress in 2008.

Seller Beware:How Not To Sell Your Business, published by Biteback Publishing in 2013, stemmed from selling her first estate agency (consisting of 8 branches) in 2005 to the wrong buyers.

Her real love is writing fiction. She has just completed a trilogy called The Voyagers, and is looking for representation for Book 1, Annie’s Story. This is set in 1913 when two servants sail to Australia ‘to better themselves’. Book 2,Juliet’s Story, is set in the present with links to the past, and Book 3, Kitty’s Story, is set in Cairo 1941, continuing the family saga.
