Elizabeth has been writing since she could and her love of history has been expanded by this genre which she believes is very important in education. She researched Jeremiah’s Hunger with nine trips to Ireland where she met relatives and found documents that led her forward. She continues to learn in her role as President of the Rochester Chapter of the Irish American Cultural Institute about the legend and lore of Ireland.
The tragic events of her great-grandfather’s life that ultimately led to the emigration of her grandmother became pivotal points for her writing. Their story, like so many others of their generation is one of courage and endurance and is worthy of telling.
She and her husband, Dave VanArsdale live in Pittsford, NY and enjoy hiking, biking, sailing, swimming, reading and theatre.
